CAROLANN B Biography
UPDATED 6th February 2013
Carolann was born in Denaby Main a small mining village in South Yorkshire, near her home town of ROTHERHAM, her birthday being the 29th November.
A firm favourite of country music from her early years, she learned to play a guitar, Violin and Mandolin at school and this held her in good stead when she took up singing.

Carolann's unique voice and love of Country Music soon had crowds at a local restaurant where she had started singing as a favour for a friend, asking for more. A request from a local charity for Carolann to sing on stage for the climax to their fund raising weekend launched her to local stardom and gave her the confidence to start a semi-professional career.
Starting with only 'Word of Mouth' bookings Carolann went from strength to strength with all her venues asking her to reappear, this became on of her main stays in creating a firm circle of fans who she counts as friends who follow her from venue to venue. Two local Agencies soon took Carolann on their books. Here booking calendar then began to bloom.
Carolann went on to make her first recording during 1998 called "SINGING FOR MY SUPPER", a reference to her humble beginnings, And Toured in the USA singing at Venues in Florida, Georgia and Tennessee including the Ryman Auditorium. In 1999 she toured several US States including North Carolina and Branson Missouri.

In May 2001 Carolann both started work on her second album
"BY REQUEST" [ Having a number of songs played on Local Radio stations] and teamed up with a Lead Guitarist Andy Spivey, who had worked with  several top bands, to form the Dixie Diamonds Duo.
Their first Album "A TOUCH OF FEVER" was released in August 2002 and received rave reviews in Magazines and on various Radio shows and has been requested from DJ's from Australia, Holland and Malta as well as the USA.
Due to pressure for her Solo work the Duo split in December 2004 and Carolann once again concentrated on her Solo career. With work and Tours building up Carolann had to make do with re releasing "SINGING FOR MY SUPPER" during 2005. As a massive build up of Solo gigs from March 2005 was taking place right through to the end of 2006.
Although Carolann set time on one side for Studio Work for a new CD for May 2006 this deadline passed with only 3 songs recorded, so pressure was on once again. However the new CD
"EASY ON THE EYES" was completed in November 2006 and is now available from The Gigs or direct from the web site.

Carolann had some 150 gigs booked for 2007, and started a new Duo and Band for Occasional Club, Festival and Corporate work. An Appearance in September 2007 opening for Mr. Ambassador of Country Music Himself, Mr. George Hamilton IV at the
Brigg Pavilion, plus a tour to the USA during November / December 2007. together with Christmas and New Years eve Parties rounded off 2007 on a high note..
Carolann started off 2008 on another high note with some 180 bookings. But March and April proved a really sad time for Carolann who had to contend with Her Husband being ill and Losing her Mother whom She adored at the same time, but because of Carolann’s professionalism even though She had to cancel over two months work, All of the Venues she was booked into immediately gave her booking either later in the year when she could fit them in or booked her back for 2009. The set back was short lived however when in July Carolann found that she had been nominated for “UK Female Country Artiste of the Year” a real Honour for this hard working woman. This together with Carolann’s new Radio Show “Ladies Night” on
www.ukcountryradio.com plus time set aside for a New CD “BETWEEN HEAVEN & HELL” which was brought out in Early 2008 meant another busy year

2009 Saw another bumper year for Carolann, with several awards including Winner of the Solo Artist of the Year award from the patrons of the Broken Wheel Music Club and being a Finalist in the UKCountryRadio.com’s Listeners Club Award, with more bookings than ever 2010 looked like being the best year ever.
At the End of 2010, and once again thanks to All Carolanna fans and friends Carolann became a finalist in the Listeners Club Award at UKCountryRadio.com for the second year running, sadly 2010 saw her lose her Youngest Brother and again had to cancell some of her engagements due to bereavement, and once again Carolann owed many thanks to all the Club Secretaries and Agents who went out of their way to re-arrange booking to help her through this sad time. 2010 also saw the CD Carolann had intended to release being put back to 2011, however she did manage to team up with Kris Davis [Guitarman Kris] for a Duo in Scotland that saw her playing for the 1st time at the Grand Ole Opry in Glasgow  that has led to more work North of the Border.
Carolann intended that 2011 would be a slow down period, and she therefore decided to limited her gigs to 150 a year as this would give her time to devote to studio work and her love of Radio Work both as a presenter and other background Media items that she wishes to become more involved with. By the end of 2010 she had already nearly reached her intended limit and 2011 actually became her best year for the number of gigs booked. Carolann’s New CD
‘A LITTLE MORE COUNTRY’ was released at the end of 2011, and her single ‘Don’t Tell Me You’re Not In love’ was placed into the running for The Listeners Club Award 2012 on UKCountryRadio.com, and became the most played Song on the Radio Station between January and March of 2012, and it would appear that someone has set up an unofficial website on REVERB NATION but seeing as it doesn’t contain anything ICarolann wouldn’t want published, ICarolann was quite happy for it to continue, especially as it would appear that the Single ‘Don’t Tell Me Your Not In Love’ is on there as well as where to vote for it, and it is showing Carolann as being in the Top 10 of the Country scene for the region I suppose Carolann should be very grateful to whoever has set it up.

2012 was another very successful year for Carolann, though one of  Carolann’s hardest yet from  an exhausting schedule point of view, and lots of new ventures on the horizon being set up for 2013
despite the economic downturn,. tCarolann’s aspirations for 2012 have been full filled,.

2013 sees a big push in motion to get another song into the finals of the listeners Club awards at UKCountryRadio.com and Now looking at new songs for for the next CD that hopefully will be completed in  2013. Plus a new Cd  that Carolann is working on for 2014 that hopefully will include lots of new songs that people have either written for her or sent to her, her first Non Cover album that Carolann is really looking forward to working on.
Another new venture is also hopefully opening up, Carolann is always saying She never gets Holidays just a few days short break here and there, well, after one such short break  in 2012 at The
New president Hotel in Blackpool Carolann decided to rebook for 2013  and started mentioning it to Friends and Fans, so many wanted to go along with her that She contacted the Hotel to see if a Block booking could be obtained, after a short discussion, it was decided that The New President Hotel would be a great spot for a Country Weekend Break, So A New Venture was set forth.

The Weekend was a great success So if you fancy a Short Break for 3 Days at A Nice Hotel with Great food and entertainment then have a look at this website and who knows,  We are now taking booking for a Tinsel & Turkey 5 Day 4 Night Break  on the 25th November, And  another weekend break from the 31st Jan to the 3rd of February 2014

The Rest of 2013  is set out with a lot of gigs, a few Festivals and Breaks, A Tour in Scotland  arranged for September 2013 with Ian Duncan who plays bass in Carolann’s band, but is better known as a lead guitarist and pedal steel player, as well of as the bass, banjo and mandolin a really, really talented guy. Of course lots of other New, ‘Irons in the fire ‘ are on the back burner and as such  Carolann is really looking forward to the Future ,  2014 is one third booked, and pleasantly a lot of the bookings are for Clubs Carolann has never performed at before

One of Carolann's attractions on stage is her sheer love of Country Music that comes shining through, her knowledge of the Country Scene in that she picks songs that cater for both those that wish to just listen to the music and those that wish to line dance and she manages to include in her act both New and Traditional Country that keeps all those at the venue happy. And of course a sparkling voice and personality that makes her new fans into friends.
Carolann always replies personally to fan mail and E-mail and has fans as far afield as the USA, France and Australia, her fan club address for conventional mail is:- Carolann "B", P.O. Box 254, ROTHERHAM S60 2YG, England. Tel +44 (0) 1709 370516 or Mobile +44 07956 259771 or for fast response
